NDIS Information

We want to inform you about recent updates to the NDIS rules regarding funding for therapy services. We are committed to ensuring that you can continue to utilise Beyond the Paddock for your therapeutic needs.

All our programs here at Beyond the Paddock are run by qualified allied health professionals recognised by the NDIS. All participants sessions will fall under the “daily living – therapeutic supports” category. For example , they may attend occupational therapy sessions that incorporate animals, such as horses, to assist with the therapy.

As outlined in the NDIS’ FAQ section, animal-assisted therapy is an approved NDIS service when delivered by a qualified therapist under the NDIS Price Guide.

It’s important to let your plan managers know that the services we offer are not “equine therapy” or “animal therapy”, rather allied health therapy services that incorporates animals into the sessions. The NDIS is taking action against unqualified individuals delivering “animal therapy,” which may have caused some confusion.
To clarify, all our services are delivered by qualified allied health professionals who integrate animals into therapy sessions in compliance with NDIS rules. In fact, we’ve received recent referrals from the NDIS for individuals who had to cease services with providers lacking the required qualifications and were advised to seek approved animal-assisted therapy from qualified therapists.

We can provide any qualifications and registrations upon request. All our therapists are committed to ongoing training to safely incorporate animals into therapy.
